We use it as part of our daily sensory regulation routine, allowing students to take structured breaks when they need to reset and refocus. Because it is such a high-interest item, we created a consistent schedule so each student has a fair opportunity to use it throughout the day. When the students first saw the cuddle box, their excitement was immediate and unforgettable. They spent much of the day exploring it—jumping, flipping through the different layers, rolling around, laughing, and even taking short naps. It quickly became clear how much they craved this type of sensory input. Since then, we've worked on building routines and expectations so students understand when and how to use it appropriately as a tool for learning, not just play. Moving forward, our next steps include continuing to strengthen independence and self-regulation by encouraging students to request sensory breaks appropriately and return to tasks ready to learn. \r\nAll the students have been utilizing the noise cancelling headphones. They use them during our day in the classroom, at school events, and field trips. It has been amazing having enough headphones for each scholar to have their own. Thanks to these resources, our students are developing the skills they need to be more confident, regulated, and successful each day.","fullyFundedDate":1772143364661,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-smart-tools-for-amazing-learners/10070608/","projectTitle":"Sensory-Smart Tools for Amazing Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McCallister","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10062383_orig.jpg?crop=3022,3022,x0,y302&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1771937428607","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10062383"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70172","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":296,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":51,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.7,"schoolId":70172,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Parkview Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Parkview Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/wyoming-public-schools/parkview-elementary-school/70172"}
