I set up stations and let the students choose the stations they got to go to. The stations included glow slime, glow stacking cups, adopt a mochi glow pet, glow ring toss, glow bowling, make a bracelet with glow beads, glow tic tac toe and neon highligher pictures. The room also had glowing/neon decor that made it look really cool.\r\n\r\nMy students were so surprised and thrilled when they arrived at school. I covered the windows with black paper and set up black lights in the room. Students got to pick two glow bracelets each to wear at the glow party and keep. They especially enjoyed adopting a mochi pet, which they kept in a neon cup. \r\n\r\nI will be able to recreate this celebration next year as well because I can reuse the black lights and I kept the decorations too. The students worked so hard this school year and this gave everyone a chance to have fun! I truly thank you for supporting this project for my students. We use them for so many things.\r\n\r\nDuring math, there is a section where I show them a number or number of dots and they have to show me that number in a different way. It is so much cleaner, faster and easier to pass out the LCD boards than to pass out white boards, markers and erasers to each student. I can easily assess my students' answers when they show me their LCD board.\r\n\r\nWe also use the boards during our literacy groups. It allows for creativity and environmental awreness through hands-on experiences. It is learning away from technology. It fosters resilience, confidence and a deeper connection to nature and community. \r\n\r\nWe fundraise to lower the cost of attending camp by 50% for our students. We also cover the costs for those that would not otheriwse be able to attend for financial reasons. We fundraise is by selling snacks twice a week to our school community. \r\n\r\nYour donation allowed for my project to be funded.
