Your donation has provided my students with the opportunity to learn the basic components and operation of a sewing machine, allowing them to deepen their understanding of garment and sewn-item construction. \r\n\r\nDuring the first few weeks of our meetings, students focused on learning the fundamentals of hand sewing and getting acquainted with other materials commonly found in a sewing room. Upon the arrival of the machines, students were filled with excitement; they could not wait to unbox them. \r\n\r\nAs we continue with our lessons, students will learn how to make practical projects such as tote bags, fabric baskets, pillows, and pajamas. Some of my students aspire to be fashion designers.
