Our equipment has not been able to keep up with the needs of our students, and more often than not, we lack the specialty percussion equipment needed for the songs we play. As a Title 1 school, we have many students who can not afford basic instruments, and our district does not have the funds for supplemental equipment necessary for student success in our band program. \r\n\r\nYour generous donation purchased a set of temple blocks necessary for several songs in our recent Winter Concert. Your donation also purchased xylophone mallets, giving more students the opportunity to increase their skills in mallet percussion. Our average percussion section in a band class consists of 8-10 students, and we did not have enough mallets for all students to participate daily. Thanks to you, we now do. \r\n\r\nWe owe so many thanks to The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation for this donation. It may seem like a small donation or a small addition to our band class, but it means so much to the students in our band program.
