I can't believe how quickly it was funded and how quickly the materials were delivered! At the beginning of the year, I was able to read The Little Spots books to begin our discussion on understanding our feeling and how to safely express them. These books helped us learn new ways to cope with our feelings. The little spot hand-sized stuffed animals have been helpful with students who may be sad, scared, or overwhelmed. They know to grab a little spot and take it back to their seat so that they can continue learning.\r\n\r\nThe calming corner has been amazing in helping students calm down when they need it. It has been wonderful to see students go to the calming corner, set the timer, use the breathing activities and calming tools to regulate their emotions. Students have successfully been able to calm down within the time limit and return back to their learning activity. As a result, I have seen an increase in students' ability to stay focused in instruction and their work. \r\n\r\nMy students and I cannot thank you enough!","fullyFundedDate":1755736948405,"projectUrl":"project/little-spots-calming-corner/9425561/","projectTitle":"Little Spot’s Calming Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kohn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10060652"},{"teacherId":10203769,"projectId":9814000,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating these wonderful instruments to my classroom! The students absolutely love the new materials, and I've seen them engage with it both independently and collaboratively. One of our favorite classroom projects has been creating shapes and letters with the Play-Doh to support our literacy and math lessons. Students use the Play-Doh to form the letters of the alphabet and numbers, which helps them develop fine motor skills while reinforcing letter and number recognition. They also work in pairs or small groups to build 3D shapes and then describe them, which ties into our geometry lessons. The Play-Doh tools like rolling pins and shape cutters add a fun and interactive element to the learning process, and the kids enjoy experimenting with different textures and forms.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless! There were wide eyes, excited giggles, and a few \"Wow!\" moments as they explored the vibrant colors and the different accessories. Many of them couldn't wait to dig in and start molding their own creations, and some even wanted to share their ideas with the class right away. It sparked a lot of enthusiasm and creative energy that carried over into other areas of the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe students also love the create a matching emotion face mats! This ties into the Social-Emotional Learning we have been doing regarding reading body language and facial expressions to understand how someone is feeling. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to find ways to incorporate these fun tools into even more learning!","fullyFundedDate":1669764446875,"projectUrl":"project/having-doh-much-fun/6689895/","projectTitle":"Having Doh Much Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Miles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2616075_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651960073966","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2616075"},{"teacherId":10203769,"projectId":9654496,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to our music class.
