In my art room the students are utilizing the Chomp Saw tools to safely and efficiently cut cardboard for projects such as our gingerbread houses in third grade and ice bases for clay snowmen in sixth grade. Many grade levels will also be using the Chomp Saws in the future to create various sculptures based on the elements of art or on famous artists that they learn about.\r\n Using the Chomp Saws allow students to focus more fully on the creative process rather than the limitation of materials. The Chomp Saw provides a controlled, student-friendly way to prepare cardboard components, making it possible for students to explore construction, sculpture, and design with greater confidence. By incorporating this tool into our classroom and lessons, students are encouraged to think critically about structure, form and problem solving as they bring their ideas to life. The Chomp Saws have reduced frustration and increased independence in the art room by empowering students to experiment, revise, and expand their artistic ideas in meaningful ways. I am looking forward to using the Chomp Saws in many various lessons with a wide range of students for years to come. \r\n Again, thank you for making this dream a possibility for my students and for encouraging our creativity and critical thinking.","fullyFundedDate":1761257014711,"projectUrl":"project/getting-crazy-creative-with-cardboard/9587316/","projectTitle":"Getting Crazy Creative with Cardboard!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wennerstrom","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1248305_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534111085704","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1248305"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71064","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":495,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"17.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":92.0,"schoolId":71064,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Switzer Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Switzer Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/utica-community-school-district/switzer-elementary-school/71064"}
