Because of your kindness, my students now have additional literacy materials and resources to support them as they work toward becoming stronger, more confident readers.\r\n\r\nAs a reading interventionist, I work with students who need intensive, targeted instruction to strengthen foundational reading skills. My students work incredibly hard, but they often need additional practice, repetition, and individualized support to close learning gaps. The materials you provided have given me more opportunities to meet each student exactly where they are and provide instruction based on their specific needs.\r\n\r\nThe decodable texts, phonics materials, and engaging literacy activities have strengthened our Tier 3 small-group instruction. Students are able to practice phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills in meaningful and hands-on ways. Having high-quality materials available also allows me to provide repeated practice while keeping students engaged and motivated.\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest impacts of your donation is the confidence these resources help build. For a struggling reader, successfully decoding a new word, reading a passage more fluently, or realizing they can read a book independently is a huge accomplishment. Each success helps students begin to see themselves differently—not as struggling readers, but as readers who are growing and improving every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and supporting the important work of literacy intervention. Your generosity has provided much more than materials. You have provided opportunities for students to experience success, build confidence, and develop the foundational skills they need for future learning.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support and for helping our students grow into confident, capable readers!","fullyFundedDate":1776629839628,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-readers-through-targeted/10097149/","projectTitle":"Building Strong Readers Through Targeted Phonics Instruction","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Minniear","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1738392_orig.jpg?crop=288,288,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1615677474260","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/nicki-minniear"},{"teacherId":1738392,"projectId":10235074,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project! These students work incredibly hard, but learning to read does not always come easily. Your donation has given us hands-on, research-based tools that will allow students to see, hear, manipulate, and practice sounds and words in ways that make learning more engaging and effective.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students will have more opportunities to practice phonemic awareness, letter-sound relationships, blending, and decoding during our small-group intervention time. These materials will help me provide explicit, systematic instruction while giving students the repetition and immediate feedback they need to grow.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support provides something beyond new classroom materials—it provides opportunities for success. Each time a student sounds out a word independently, reads a sentence they once thought was too difficult, or realizes, \"I can do this,\" their confidence grows. Those small successes can completely change how a child sees themselves as a reader.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and believing in the importance of early literacy.
