Many of my students come to school hungry. While there is free breakfast available, some come to school after breakfast is closed. Having some food available helps my students make it through their morning classes.\r\n\r\nThe biggest addition to my classroom from your support is personal-sized dry-erase boards, markers, and erasers. My Personal Finance students are able to participate more often in the class. They answer questions on their boards, and I am able to walk around the classroom and give instant feedback. This has helped my quiet students who are afraid of participating. A couple of days after I introduced these, I asked a student who would normally have her head on her desk if she felt more comfortable participating this way, and she instantly responded yes. More students are participating in my Daily Trivia question, so the student with the correct answer or closest to the answer earns 1 extra credit point. \r\n\r\nSince our school has gone cell-phone free, students need some way to keep active in class. The dry-erase boards also allow students to free draw during class while listening to a video or me. I love seeing some of the drawings from my students. Students do not have AirPods in their ears, so they are absorbing the information much more easily. \r\n\r\nThank you for making this school year more interactive!","fullyFundedDate":1756079940552,"projectUrl":"project/welcome-back/9429119/","projectTitle":"Welcome Back!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mattoon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10062233"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73502","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1363,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.5,"schoolId":73502,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Taylor High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Taylor High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/taylor-school-district/harry-s-truman-senior-high-school/73502"}
