The little trinkets that were in the project are actually used for rewards for good behavior. \r\n\r\nWhen I catch a child being kind or following directions, they earn a puff ball. At the end of the week all the children get to go shopping with the puff balls. In order to go shopping , they must have 3 puffs. 3 puffs allows them to purchase a trinket in my class store. \r\n\r\nThis system keeps the good behavior going strong and keeps a positive vibe in the classroom. You should have seen the kids when we first got the rug! They couldn't believe it! They were SO tired of sitting on carpet squares. They would slide around and kids would trip on them. We now feel cozy in our room again.\r\n\r\nOur new rug is HUUUGE and we LOVEit! I swear, teachers were coming in my classroom from down the hall to see it and oooh and ahhhh over it. It allows us so much space. I have some cans set aside for the first day of school this upcoming Monday (8/25). \r\n\r\n On the first day of school we will practice making little balls and little worms by rolling the dough in our palm.
