From the moment the students walked in and saw it, their eyes lit up with excitement. They immediately gathered around it, noticing the bright colors and cozy space it created. We now use the rug every day during our morning meeting, phonics lessons, and read-aloud time. Just this week, we gathered together on the rug to practice our phonics patterns and partner read stories we've been working on. Having a comfortable, inviting space has helped my students stay engaged, focused, and connected as a learning community.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our rug has truly become the heart of our classroom. It gives us a shared space for collaboration, discussion, and celebration of learning. As we move into our next reading and writing unit, students will continue using the rug for small group instruction, book discussions, and sharing their published writing pieces. We are also beginning a research project where students will work in teams to gather information and present what they learn. Our rug will be the perfect gathering place. Thank you for giving my students a space where they feel comfortable, valued, and excited to learn each day.
