I love all things literacy and all things U.S. history, so being able to combine the two has been so awesome. \r\n\r\nOne of my favorite books is \"Her Name Was Mary Katherine\" by Ella Schwartz. The book tells the story of the only woman's name that appears on the Declaration of Independence. Her family owned the printing company who printed and sent out copies of the Declaration to the colonies. At the bottom of the Delcaration reads \"Published by M.K. Goddard.\" I loved being able to teach students about her using a picture book and discussing her views as a Patriot during the lead up to the American Revolution. \r\n\r\nYour generosity is so appreciated.
