The funds were used to support ELA students at Community High. Information directly from the teacher. \"My students utilize the sensory swing, and the sand and the heated neck wrap regularly. I use the bell to gently announce a transition in the classroom, and the pillows and mats are used by my students all the time. I am working in an alternative high school and one of the first things we try to do is make the students feel loved and wanted. There are not a lot of ways that I can show a student right away that I care about them and their needs, and I am teaching them how to read. Through a series of highly supportive, differentiated choice activities, we are getting this work done. Many students have days where they need all of the supports. The swing, the heated neck wrap and a fidget with a book of their choice can finally feel like something that will bring them joy. I have to win their hearts before I get an opportunity to help shape their minds.
