I have been wanting to add to my classroom in order to make it more comfortable for students. I knew that the light covers would be a complete game changer for them, but due to the price I was unable to purchase them myself.\r\nThe day the box arrived my students were so curious. I had not shared with them what I had done. They are always so excited to receive new things for our classroom, and I knew they would react no differently when they realized what was in store. For months, they have complained about the bright fluorescent lights; when the lights are all on it is too bright, when they are off it is too dark. They knew about the light covers from previous classrooms, and even asked if it was something I could get. Again, the cost was something holding me back. \r\nAs I explained the process of Donors Choose, with the box sitting in front of me, my students began to show excitement, and even awe. Some even stated how surprised they were that people would be so generous toward kids they don't even know. When I ripped open the packaging and showed them what was inside, they went NUTS. There were shouts of \"yeah\", clapping, and cheering. They asked if we could put them up immediately, even letting me know that our plant engineer has a ladder we could use. I let them know I would ask him as soon as possible. They left for the day hopeful that tomorrow our classroom would be a little easier on the eyes. \r\nThe next morning, before student arrival, our building plant engineer was able to put up the light covers. When the students walked into our room they were so excited at how calm the lighting was. The light covers have helped make our room feel more inviting and comfortable for student learning. Since then I have gotten two new students, and they both commented on the light covers the first day they arrived.\r\nI have yet to plug in the air purifier, as I need to find a place to house it. But I know that it'll help with having clean air to breathe, especially in the winter months where germs and sickness are at an all time high.\r\nSo again, thank you. Thank you for supporting my third grade classroom and students. Your generosity means the world!\r\n\r\nKindly,\r\nAnna Crosby","fullyFundedDate":1728312678802,"projectUrl":"project/calm-classroom/8679197/","projectTitle":"Calm Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crosby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9462012_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y240&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1707241943469","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9462012"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61252","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":479,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":17,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":60,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.0,"schoolId":61252,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bentley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bentley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/plymouth-canton-cmty-schools/bentley-elementary-school/61252"}
