One of our favorite activities so far has been exploring sensory bins filled with textured materials. Students have been practicing hand-eye coordination and strengthening their hands with scoops, tongs, and funnels, all while describing what they feel and sharing discoveries with their classmates. It has been wonderful to see them so engaged and proud of their work.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' eyes lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to dig in, and the room quickly filled with laughter, curiosity, and collaboration as they explored together. These tools have given them new ways to create, play, and learn at the same time.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be incorporating these resources into our literacy and math lessons—using playdough to form letters and numbers, and lacing cards and building blocks during small-group centers. Thanks to your generosity, my students are gaining hands-on experiences that support not just their academic growth, but also their social and emotional development.","fullyFundedDate":1746785973954,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-and-fine-motor-play/9241032/","projectTitle":"Sensory and Fine Motor Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brandon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8691961"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71007","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":407,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":61,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.6,"schoolId":71007,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Seminole Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Seminole Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/mount-clemens-community-school-district/seminole-academy/71007"}
