Having higher quality trumpets has helped our students individually. No longer will my players have to manually unstick their valves because no amount of valve oil will fix the dents. Students have begun to discover what tuning is and how much better it sounds now that tuning slides are functional. \r\n\r\nThe new trumpets have also allowed us to open the band program up to two new students. Upon announcing this, I immediately had multiple students ask to join. Our band is now bigger and louder which helps the students to feel like they are participating in a real band. One student said as much on our first day with the two new trumpets, \"Mr. Peterson we sound like a real band now.\" \r\n\r\nFor most band programs two new trumpets would be a small bump in the budget, but for our small and growing band program, the addition of these instruments have allowed for so many more possibilities in school support, student participation, performance opportunities, and most importantly student growth.","fullyFundedDate":1769015820938,"projectUrl":"project/starting-a-concert-band-at-river-city-sc/9757803/","projectTitle":"Starting a Concert Band at River City Scholars","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Peterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10278565_orig.jpg?crop=716,716,x281,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758807063098","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10278565"},{"teacherId":3233163,"projectId":2951285,"letterContent":"During the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching and learning were full of challenges and constant change.
