The butterfly habitat and 10 caterpillars have been a favorite. The children have been able to watch the caterpillars grow and change every day, which has given us so many opportunities to talk about life cycles, changes in living things, and being gentle and caring with animals.\r\n\r\nThe Sprout and Grow window kit has also been a wonderful addition to our classroom. The children love checking on the roots as they grow, and it has connected beautifully with our current tree study. They are able to see that plants grow in different ways and observe changes over time right in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe social-emotional books have given us new resources for our calming corner. Children can look through the books when they need a quiet space and we can use them to talk about feelings, emotions, and ways to handle big feelings. The calming strips have also been a simple but helpful tool. We added them to the children's name tags so they have something quiet and appropriate for their little hands to do while sitting on the carpet.\r\n\r\nThese donations have brought so many hands-on learning opportunities into our classroom while also supporting children's curiosity, independence, and social-emotional development.
