Each drawer is now a dedicated home for their supplies—from vibrant markers and crayons to essential glue sticks and dry erase markers. During transition times, my students now move with purpose; they know exactly where to find a highlighter for a reading assignment or an eraser for a math correction. Instead of rummaging through cluttered communal bins, they simply slide out a drawer, grab what they need, and get straight to work. This newfound independence has turned our supply station into one of the most efficient hubs in my classroom.\r\n\r\nMy next steps involve adding visual labels with both text and icons to the front of each drawer, ensuring that all of my students can contribute to maintaining the system. By giving them ownership over the organization, I'm not just keeping my classroom clean; I'm teaching them valuable life skills in responsibility and stewardship.\r\n\r\nThe impact of an organized classroom on student focus cannot be overstated. When the physical environment is cluttered, it creates a visual noise that can be incredibly distracting, especially for my students who struggle with executive functioning. By streamlining our storage, we have reclaimed precious instructional minutes that used to be lost to searching for supplies. An organized space sends a clear message to my students that their learning environment is a professional, respected place, which in turn boosts their morale and readiness to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1765225933003,"projectUrl":"project/organized-for-success-creating-a-clutte/9870185/","projectTitle":"Organized for Success: Creating a Clutter-Free Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wheatley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9223640_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692999070653","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9223640"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70730","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":307,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":86,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"21.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.4,"schoolId":70730,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Elva Lynch Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Elva Lynch Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/lapeer-community-school-district/elva-lynch-elementary-school/70730"}
