Many of our girls grew up learning the game in neighborhood parks and driveways, so stepping onto the court for official school sports is a huge deal. When the delivery boxes arrived, the energy in our gym hit absolute maximum chaotic joy! The moment they realized we got real air pumps to keep everything bouncy, it was like kids on Christmas morning—if Christmas involved immediately pumping up five basketballs at once just to run around testing the maximum altitude of every bounce!\r\n\r\nHaving proper, official equipment ready to go has completely transformed our daily practices. Beyond building physical endurance and skill, these balls are helping our athletes discover the true magic of sports—learning to anticipate the next volley, call out plays, and laugh together through the occasional goofy blunders (like the classic \"accidental pass directly off a teammate's forehead\"). These balls are doing so much more than helping us score points; they are teaching our girls how to trust each other, shake off silly mistakes, and build confidence that follows them right out of the gym. As we dive into the rest of our season, we are so excited to keep working hard, making hilarious memories, and showing off our skills—all thanks to your support!","fullyFundedDate":1791062993617,"projectUrl":"project/balls-for-all-seasons/10669272/","projectTitle":"Balls for all Seasons","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thueme","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2055414_orig.jpg?crop=805,805,x853,y95&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1582648190529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2055414"},{"teacherId":2055414,"projectId":10631669,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our \"Hungry Brains and Full Bellies\" project! If you've ever tried explaining math equations or analyzing a story to a room full of middle schoolers whose stomachs sound like a pod of growling whales, you know what a monumental challenge it can be. When the snack boxes finally arrived, it was like holiday morning in our classroom! Minds were blown, eyes went wide, and my favorite quote of the day was a very serious, \"Wait, are these actually for us to eat, or is this a trick?\" Knowing that awesome people outside our school cared enough to send fuel for their growing bodies made them feel like total VIPs.\r\n\r\nHaving these snacks on hand has been an absolute game-changer, especially during our afternoon classes when student energy usually hits a wall and everyone starts moving in slow motion. Now, a quick cheetiz's bag or granola bar break completely resets the vibe, turning sleepy glazed-over stares back into active, eager participants. Looking ahead, these snacks are going to be the secret superpower behind our upcoming end-of-quarter projects, keeping our momentum high and our hanger at bay. They were so happy to have to many books and tools. These things are truly a game changer. I was listening while we were cleaning up from last year and getting a head start on organizing for this year's Sugar Bush, and the kids were just so in charge. They were labeling and putting things away that \"made sense.\" They were discussing plans as to how they were going to \"teach\" the little kids how to make syrup and all the collection parts. They were even discussing how they could have the kids practice with some of the older- not used often tools. This is what learning and growing and sharing is all about. The younger generations caring for the even younger kids and being in charge. The Middle School students are leading the way and making changes for the better of everyone. They were even discussion how they could make the free pancake supper an even bigger success. They wanted to talk to local farmers for \"home grown\" sausage. Making the whole meal \"a community could be proud of!\" Now if that isn't leading and making a community stronger, I am not sure what is.... \r\nThank you for making all of this happen and more. Your generous donations of rocks and painting markers have made a huge difference in our classroom. Right now, the kids are diving into a super fun project called \"Nature's Art Gallery.\" They've been painting the rocks with bright colors and cool designs, turning them into little masterpieces that celebrate nature and spread messages of happiness and kindness. One of my favorite moments was when they gathered around a big table, each of them picking a rock and brainstorming ideas. The excitement in the room was electric as they shared our designs!\r\n\r\nWhen they unwrapped those markers and rocks, their eyes lit up! There were gasps of joy and a chorus of \"Wow!\" It felt like Christmas morning! They couldn't wait to get started, and the creativity just flowed. Not only has this project allowed them to express themselves artistically, but it has also helped reduce stress and anxiety. As they paint and create, there is a sense of calm and joy. They can relax and focus. As they continue with the project, they're planning to display their finished artworks around the community to brighten up their communities and share their creativity. Not only are we learning how to grow our own food, but we're also bonding with our families and neighbors while sharing our epic harvests. We even discovered some plants that are super special to our families, which makes it feel like we're on a treasure hunt!
