Their excitement was palpable when the fresh supplies arrived, and they couldn't wait to dive in.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've seen a wide variety of artwork submitted, each piece reflecting the unique style and personality of its creator. The paint markers have been especially popular, with many students using them to add bold, vibrant details to their work. Meanwhile, the alcohol markers have introduced a new and exciting medium for students to explore. For many, it's their first time experimenting with this type of marker, and they've embraced the challenge with enthusiasm.","fullyFundedDate":1755723397831,"projectUrl":"project/marker-magic/9385190/","projectTitle":"Marker Magic","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reiff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8698164"},{"teacherId":8698164,"projectId":9368708,"letterContent":"Imlay City's advanced art students have been diving into the world of linoleum printmaking, exploring both technique and creativity. Each student selected their own subject matter, allowing for a wide range of personal expression. They've learned how to transfer their drawings onto linoleum blocks and use carving tools to create relief prints.\r\n\r\nAs part of the process, students are gaining hands-on experience with essential printmaking tools such as brayers, carving tools, and ink. Their enthusiasm has been contagious—they've especially enjoyed crafting their own prints, affectionately calling them \"stamps.\"\r\n\r\nNow that they've built a solid foundation, I'm excited to introduce the next challenge: multi-layer linoleum prints. With their growing confidence and skills, I think they're ready to take their printmaking to the next level!","fullyFundedDate":1755715710535,"projectUrl":"project/old-fashioned-printing/9368708/","projectTitle":"Old Fashioned Printing","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reiff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8698164"},{"teacherId":8698164,"projectId":9141794,"letterContent":"My students have been so excited to dive into printmaking with their new supplies. We've began to explore soft linoleum printing, experimenting with carving tools and ink to create original designs. Our initial project was a small 4x6in piece of linoleum with an original carving, we are going to build off of this to experiment with layering and repetition. We're building on our first projects by moving into layered prints, where students will explore how color and texture can interact across multiple layers. \r\n\r\nThe moment I unpacked the supplies; the room buzzed with curiosity. Students immediately wanted to try the carving tools and rollers, asking, \"Can we start today?\" For many, if not all, it was their first time seeing professional printmaking tools, and their excitement showed in the way they carefully handled the materials and started brainstorming ideas on the spot. One student told me they spent their night watching printmaking tutorials on Tik Tok. \r\n\r\nI can't tell you how much your donations mean to our classroom, I am so happy my advanced art students got this experience.","fullyFundedDate":1746785445666,"projectUrl":"project/inked-narratives/9141794/","projectTitle":"Inked Narratives","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reiff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8698164"},{"teacherId":8698164,"projectId":9098402,"letterContent":"Receiving high-quality colored pencils has already had a great effect on my students' artwork and their confidence as young artists. With vibrant pigments and smooth application, they were able to create richer, more detailed pieces that truly reflected their creativity. The frustration of using dull or scratchy pencils disappeared, allowing them to focus on technique, blending, and expression. As they explored the depth and precision that quality materials provided, their artwork became more refined, and they started experimenting with new styles they hadn't dared to try before.\r\n\r\nBeyond the technical improvements, their confidence is increased. The simple upgrade in supplies transformed not only their artistic output but also their belief in their own abilities—proving that sometimes, the right tools can make all the difference. Students have been creating realistic and nonrealistic drawings with their new pencils. We can't thank you enough for your donation! I can't wait to continue scaffolding colored pencil lessons next year with these new pencils.","fullyFundedDate":1746785330930,"projectUrl":"project/coolest-colored-pencils/9098402/","projectTitle":"Coolest Colored Pencils","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reiff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8698164"},{"teacherId":8698164,"projectId":9005020,"letterContent":"The introduction of needle felting as a medium profoundly impacted my advanced art students, offering them a unique outlet for creativity, technical growth, and emotional expression. As a tactile and immersive process, needle felting required students to engage deeply with their work, honing their patience and attention to detail. This meticulous craft not only improved their fine motor skills but also encouraged them to approach art with a new level of focus and care.\r\n\r\nBeyond technical skills, needle felting provided a therapeutic and meditative experience for many students. The repetitive nature of the process often helped to reduce stress, creating a sense of calm and mindfulness. This emotional benefit translated into a stronger connection with their work and a deeper appreciation for the creative process as a whole.\r\n\r\nUltimately, the opportunity to explore needle felting enriched the students' artistic journeys, equipping them with new skills, confidence, and a broadened perspective on the possibilities of art. It underscored the importance of introducing diverse media into the classroom, nurturing not only technical proficiency but also personal growth and artistic exploration.","fullyFundedDate":1739558718198,"projectUrl":"project/fuzzy-critters-needle-felting-artwork/9005020/","projectTitle":"Fuzzy Critters- Needle Felting Artwork","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reiff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8698164"},{"teacherId":8698164,"projectId":9004832,"letterContent":"I hope this message finds you well.
