As a small rural school in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, we make the most of what we have — and your generosity truly transformed our space.\n\nWhen the new baking sheets, utensils, and silverware arrived, students were immediately excited. One of them said, “This feels like a real kitchen now!” Instead of searching through mismatched drawers, they can now jump right into cooking. It has made our activites run so much more smoothly and helped students feel confident and capable at their stations. It also kick-started a renewed interest in the kitchen space and our superintendent agreed to consider what it would take to completely renovate the space. \n\nWe recently used the new supplies during a scratch-cooking activity, and the difference was noticeable. Students were able to focus on the skills of cooking rather than sorting through and waiting for equipment. The pride they took in their work was incredible to see.\n\nComing up in the next weeks, students are planning a budget-friendly family meal project where they’ll apply what they’ve learned to create and prepare a full meal. The tools you provided are helping them build real-life skills they can take home with them.\n\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their growth.
