Because of your generosity, our students are using the STEM LEGOs to plan and build grid-style compositions inspired by Mondrian's bold lines and primary colors. One of the most exciting classroom moments was watching students carefully engineer their LEGO layouts, experimenting with spacing and balance just like designers and architects. These LEGO grids have become the blueprint for their own artwork as they transfer their designs onto canvas tote bags, wooden bookmarks, keychains, and small wooden boxes to create functional works of art.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement filled the art room. They immediately began sorting LEGO pieces and brainstorming creative ways to build strong, balanced grids. Many students were thrilled to realize that they would not only be creating artwork, but also designing items they could actually use in their everyday lives. Seeing their ideas take shape—from a LEGO structure to a painted piece of functional art—has been incredibly empowering for them.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue refining their designs as they paint bold geometric compositions using red, yellow, blue, black, and white. They are learning how thoughtful planning leads to successful design, just like engineers and artists do. Your generosity has opened the door for students to explore creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking in a hands-on way. Thank you for giving our young artists the opportunity to create, experiment, and see themselves as both artists and innovators! 🎨🟥🟦🟨","fullyFundedDate":1764614479908,"projectUrl":"project/stem-mondrian-art/9886342/","projectTitle":"STEM Mondrian Art","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Werner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3033162_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449262596236","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3033162"},{"teacherId":3033162,"projectId":9723305,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project focused on compassion, community, and kindness in the art room.
