The students were so excited to receive a variety of new items in the classroom from snacks, to cushions, to new books. \r\n\r\nOur snack cabinet was stocked full and fed students daily for multiple months, just running out at the end of April. It has been wildly helpful for students to know they can rely on this cabinet if they forgot a snack that day or their families were not able to provide one. \r\n\r\nThe new individual book donations created big excitement throughout the class. The refresh of our classroom bookshelves offered a new spark for reading. Many students read new books and wrote BookTalk commercials for the class to promote them. The book sets came in handy during our 5th Grade Battle of the Books, where students had a reading list and assigned teams. Next week, our students will prepare for a quiz bowl \"battle\" to show off what they have gained from reading the variety of novels. This activity also highlighted some student favorites that we may need new copies of! \r\n\r\nThe adds to the atmosphere of the classroom came at student request like new light covers, which has been incredibly helpful reducing headaches and creating a more calm environment when we need bright light to work. Overall, our students have been incredibly excited and happy receiving new materials and have learned responsabiltiy in taking care of nice, new items in a classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1768884507625,"projectUrl":"project/responding-to-student-surveys/9891579/","projectTitle":"Responding to Student Surveys!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fries","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10172989_orig.png?crop=1000,1000,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755049005585","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10172989"},{"teacherId":10172989,"projectId":9583185,"letterContent":"When my students first saw these new additions to our book nook and work spaces, they were elated. They were super curious about when, how, and who would be using them. My students love to use them for quiet reading time. They are a great motivator for my students to achieve \"self-government\", which allows students certain freedoms like using all of the fun seating without asking first. Self-government can use these options during quiet reading and independent work time without asking, while others can use it during specified times. I also love that the pillows can easily be taken in the hallway for students to sit on when they work alone or with a partner. The seat cushions are great as a flexible seating option for students who struggle with sitting for long periods. I love that all of these items make our classroom more comfortable for learning. It helps soften our atmosphere and makes us feel like more of a community or family sharing this space, rather than only students and teacher. \r\n\r\nThank you so much!","fullyFundedDate":1755521910736,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-in-the-book-nook/9583185/","projectTitle":"Comfort in the Book Nook","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fries","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10172989_orig.png?crop=1000,1000,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755049005585","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10172989"},{"teacherId":562444,"projectId":9492913,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for these sturdy and durable shelves.
