Through your generous donations, our school can continue to support 500 families and meet their daily needs. Sometimes this may be a meal to take home, or personal care items. Either way, our students are empowered to get the items they need to make their day brighter. \r\n\r\nWhen our student's saw that we had name brand food items like Auntie Annie's Mac and Cheese - they were excited. To give food that is not generic or store branded made the student feel that someone actually was caring for what they eat. Having all kinds of personal care items for different hair and skin types help the students realize that we see their individual needs. \r\n\r\nI am proud to create projects like this to help out students on a larger scale rather than just from individual donors. The personal hygiene items that are now available in the care closet provide the basic necessities for our students to feel pride in their appearance and not embarrassed to attend class. Our district has such a diverse community that being able to provide these items to all students. \r\n\r\nBy having the care closet available to students, we have set up a link to request items, so that it minimizes student's time away from learning and disruptions during class. I was able to receive such a variety of hygiene supplies for my students and our classroom to finish this school year and have an amazing start next year. There are students who come and visit my classroom for items, that are not even students that I have in class, so I am able to support even more than I imagined!\r\n\r\nWith the funding of this project, I was able to supply a wide variety of items to the students. Items such as ChapStick, Band-Aids, eyeglass wipes, shampoo/conditioner, soap, lotion, deodorant, hair clips/ties, brushes/combs, edge gel, dental floss, toothpaste, tooth brushes and feminine hygiene products. My students and I are forever grateful for all the amazing support.
