Your support has made a meaningful and immediate impact on our students, and we are incredibly thankful.\r\n\r\nEach morning, our classroom begins with a \"soft start,\" where students are welcomed into a calm, engaging environment filled with opportunities to explore, create, and collaborate. Thanks to your donation, students now have access to high-quality materials that spark curiosity and invite meaningful learning from the moment they walk through the door. This has transformed our classroom atmosphere into one that feels safe, inviting, and full of possibility.\r\n\r\nWe have seen a noticeable increase in student engagement and excitement for learning. Children eagerly enter the room ready to explore, make choices, and connect with their peers. These materials have encouraged both collaboration and independence, allowing students to learn alongside one another while also building confidence in their own abilities. It has been especially powerful to watch students take ownership of their learning as they autonomously choose activities that interest them and feel successful in their participation.\r\n\r\nAnother incredible benefit of these materials is their ability to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Students who are ready for more advanced challenges have been able to extend their thinking and problem-solving skills, while those who are still developing foundational skills are supported in a way that feels accessible and encouraging. Every child is able to engage at their own level, ensuring that all students feel capable, valued, and included.\r\n\r\nBeyond academic growth, these materials have supported social and emotional development as well. Students are learning to share, communicate, problem-solve, and grow together. At the same time, they are developing independence and confidence through self-directed exploration. It has truly been a joy to learn alongside them and witness their growth each day.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped us create a classroom environment where students feel empowered, curious, and successful. Through using the Yoto player, students are practicing following along with stories, strengthening their attention span, and improving their ability to recall details. This type of technology supports early literacy in a hands-on, developmentally appropriate way, allowing students to independently explore stories while still building important foundational skills.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for the students is the independence the Yoto cards provide. They love being able to choose a story, insert the card, and listen on their own. It has quickly become a favorite activity in our classroom, and students are highly motivated to use it during free choice time. The combination of storytelling and technology keeps them engaged while still encouraging imagination and focus without the distraction of screens.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are typically more hesitant with reading or have shorter attention spans have especially connected with the Yoto player. It has given them confidence and a new way to access stories, allowing them to stay engaged for longer periods of time. This process integrates science, writing, and technology in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThe reef has especially engaged students who thrive with hands-on and visual learning. Your donation of the Yoto players and recorded stories has opened up a world of reading and literature for our youngest learners, even as their decoding and early reading skills are just beginning to emerge.\r\n\r\nThe Yoto players are placed in our class library, where students have the freedom to interact with stories in the way that feels most meaningful to them. They can read books independently, listen to stories using the Yoto players, or act out familiar tales with felt characters on our story board. The Yoto players, without fail, are always the first choice. Students have begun not only listening to stories but also engaging with them—using puppets, felt pieces, and the books themselves to bring the narratives to life as they listen.\r\n\r\nThis opportunity to hear high-quality texts while exploring the books has helped students build strong concepts of print, deepen comprehension, and ask and answer meaningful questions about key story elements—all without needing adult support. With the splitters and headphones you provided, students can enjoy interest-based reading opportunities and have thoughtful book discussions with their partners. Not only are they building their own knowledge, but they are becoming a true community of book-loving learners who feel empowered rather than limited by their current decoding abilities.\r\n\r\nBefore we had the Yoto players, students could read with a partner only by looking at pictures and interacting with familiar texts. Now, they can choose from a wide variety of books, learn alongside one another, and grow their love of reading in a space that feels calm, welcoming, and engaging. Our library has become one of their favorite places in the classroom—a spot they return to again and again.\r\n\r\nI cannot overstate the impact these devices and the books you provided have had in helping create a joyful, engaged community of young learners who truly love to read and love coming to school.
