The six new instruments have allowed every student to participate fully in hands-on music learning. One of our first projects was a \"song circle,\" where students worked together to learn a simple song and take turns playing chords while others sang along. It was incredible to watch them experiment with strumming patterns, support each other, and create music as a team. The students were immediately engaged and motivated, and it was clear from their smiles and eager hands that they were excited to explore their new instruments.\r\n\r\nSeeing students open up to music by playing instruments instead of singing has been incredible. Some students who usually hesitate to participate in music class became leaders, helping classmates tune and play the chords correctly. The instruments have made music accessible to every learner, fostering confidence, collaboration, and creativity in ways we couldn't achieve before.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are building on this excitement with a unit on songwriting and performance. Students will create their own short compositions in small groups, practice their songs, and perform them for the class. Your support has given us the resources to expand our lessons and provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that will have a lasting impact on our students. We are deeply grateful for your contribution to their musical journey.","fullyFundedDate":1753974759685,"projectUrl":"project/uke-can-do-it/9465199/","projectTitle":"Uke can do it!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Forleo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9111514_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y339&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749657593730","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9111514"},{"teacherId":9111514,"projectId":9427394,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a vibrant, joyful music-making space. Watching them experiment with sound and beam with pride as they perform on the Orff instruments is a powerful reminder of how meaningful hands-on music learning can be.\r\n\r\nI will never forget the moment the students first saw the instruments. Their eyes widened, and several immediately asked, \"Are these for us?\" Many of my students have never had access to high-quality musical tools, so the opportunity to touch, play, and experiment with real Orff instruments was a special experience. Some students who tend to be quiet or hesitant in class have been eager to play the Orff instruments, giving all of my students a chance to express themselves.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students are not only making music—they are building confidence, teamwork skills, and a lifelong love for the arts.
