The students were thrilled when they first saw it—they immediately gathered around, eager to explore and claim their favorite spots. Since its arrival, the couch has become a hub for learning and collaboration. Students use it for partner work, group projects, and free-choice activities. Some kids sit on the couch to work on assignments together, sharing ideas and helping one another, while others enjoy using it as a cozy space to read independently. Its low-to-the-floor design gives children who love to move a comfortable and flexible place to focus, making it an inclusive space for every learner.\r\n\r\nAlready, we are seeing the impact on both engagement and creativity in the classroom. For example, during a recent reading project, students paired up on the couch to discuss their books and create story summaries together, laughing and learning as they collaborated. Next, we plan to incorporate the couch into our writing workshop, allowing students to brainstorm, draft, and edit their work in a comfortable and inviting space.
