It's not necessarily the kids using the technology, but it's the access that teachers have to it that makes all the difference. Teachers often feel isolated in the classroom. They have so many ideas running through their heads but not always enough time to share them with their colleagues. Teachers Pay Teachers is an amazing resource that offers the chance for TEACHERS to share other ideas with TEACHERS. \r\n\r\nWhy are we all making our own materials, when we can make and share with others? Often, I have a good idea, but when I go on TPT, I notice that it already exists, but the teacher added a layer of it that I hadn't thought about yet. I use it often to spice up a skill that needs to be practiced but feels boring just to practice. For example, the other day, after working with addition, my students needed some practice. I was able to use the gift card you gifted me to purchase an addition color by number. Students were still doing the work, but there was a little more enjoyment and fun to it. When they got back, they about lost their minds! They were thrilled with all the colors they had to choose from. We have a mail carrier assigned and every morning or afternoon, they deliver the mail to the students. As adults, we know this. I wish I taken pictures in that exact moment. They were asking about the pillows, the wobble seats, the comfy chairs, the lap desks-I could go on and on. \r\n\r\nWe're headed into the third week of school, and I can tell you that the flexible seating has been a GAME CHANGER. Students who are more comfortable working at their desks, do so with a comfortable pillow. The students who are more comfortable sitting on the rug are sitting on a yoga donut, working with a lap desk.
