One group used bar clamps to stabilize a robotic arm, improving its function. Another student mastered wire stripping for clean connections. These tools allow students to accurately measure the force their designs can apply or withstand, making testing more precise and hands-on. Instead of just estimating or calculating on paper, students now gather real data to improve their projects. Whether measuring how much force their robot can pull or testing the strength of a structure, they can see the results firsthand and make adjustments like real engineers.\r\n\r\nStudents are especially excited about testing their designs in a measurable way. It has sparked friendly competition as teams try to improve their results by making small but meaningful design changes. One student, who was unsure about mechanical testing at first, became fully engaged when he saw how even minor adjustments could make a big difference. Now, he leads his team in fine-tuning their project's pulling power. This donation has helped students gain confidence, work together, and think critically as they solve engineering challenges. We are grateful for this support in helping them learn and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1729793036640,"projectUrl":"project/accurately-gauging-force-in-engineering/8881692/","projectTitle":"Accurately Gauging Force in Engineering","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9522674"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61798","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":854,"numTeachers":82,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":61798,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wakefield Memorial High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wakefield Memorial High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/wakefield-public-school-district/wakefield-memorial-high-school/61798"}
