Your support has given our early college students access to an interactive 3D anatomy platform that allows them to explore the human body in ways that traditional textbooks cannot.\r\n\r\nStudents will be using Visible Body during our Anatomy & Physiology lessons to rotate and explore anatomical structures, isolate individual body systems, and examine how structures relate to one another. \r\n\r\nThe resource will be especially valuable as we study complex topics such as neuroanatomy, cardiovascular physiology, and musculoskeletal movement. Students can view structures from multiple perspectives and then connect what they see on the screen to the physical anatomical models and laboratory activities in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to use Visible Body as students deepen their understanding of body systems and prepare for assessments and clinical case studies. They will use the platform to review anatomical structures and then apply that knowledge to understanding how injuries and diseases affect the human body.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us advance equity through innovation and for giving our early college students access to the kinds of digital resources they will encounter in college and future healthcare programs. Your generosity has brought a professional-quality SOMSO nervous system model into our early college Anatomy & Physiology classroom, giving students an opportunity to explore the central and peripheral nervous systems in a way that simply cannot be replicated by a textbook or two-dimensional diagram.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the model, they were immediately curious about the sheer complexity of the nervous system. We will be using it during our neuroanatomy lessons to trace the connections from the brain and spinal cord through the peripheral nerves. When students needed peers to help with activities, surveys, or other approved parts of their research, being able to offer a small snack afterward made participation feel appreciated and helped create a supportive community around their projects.\r\n\r\nThe snacks were also incredibly helpful during science fair competitions. We now have our hydroponic garden set up and ready for students to begin using as a hands-on research tool. Seeing the system in the classroom has already sparked a lot of curiosity and excitement, especially as students begin thinking about the different questions they could investigate through plant growth and germination.\r\n\r\nThis opportunity is especially meaningful because our school has no direct access to green space. We are located on the 16th and 17th floors of a business building in downtown Springfield, so our students do not have a school garden or outdoor growing area available for research. Having a hydroponic system inside our classroom gives students access to plant-based investigations that would otherwise be very difficult for us to conduct.\r\n\r\nOur next step is for students to begin experimenting with seed germination under different conditions and use the hydroponic system as part of their science fair research. They will be able to compare variables, collect data over time, analyze patterns, and develop their own research questions based on what they observe. For some students, these early investigations may grow into larger projects that they can present at our school Science Fair and potentially continue beyond it.\r\n\r\nYour support has given us more than a garden. It has given students a living laboratory where they can observe change, ask questions, and learn through real experimentation, even without access to a traditional garden.
