The comfy seating, bookshelves, and classroom supplies donated to our project have created a welcoming space where students can slow down, explore books, and enjoy reading independently or with friends.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new seating and bookshelves, they were so excited! They immediately wanted to explore the books and try out the cozy seating. We have been using the space throughout our day for independent reading and quiet moments when students need a chance to reset. One of my favorite moments has been watching students curl up with a book and \"read\" the pictures to themselves or a friend, even when they cannot yet read all of the words.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are building our classroom community and developing a love of books and learning. As we continue through the school year, students will become more independent readers, practice taking care of our classroom materials, and learn how to choose books that interest them. Your generosity has helped make our classroom feel like a warm, inviting place where every student can find a comfortable spot to learn, explore, and grow.
