Because of your kindness, we now have a large, comfy classroom rug and scoop seats that have already transformed our learning space.\r\n\r\nThe rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom. We gather there each morning for our community meetings, read-alouds, and group lessons. Just last week, we spread out on the rug to work on partner reading, and I loved seeing pairs of students nestled together, fully engaged in their books. The scoop seats have given my students flexible options for working independently and with peers. They've especially enjoyed using them during computer time—several students have commented that it helps them \"focus better\" and \"feels more fun than a desk.\"\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was contagious. My students gasped, cheered, and immediately asked if they could try everything out. A few even sprawled out on the rug right away, declaring it \"the softest rug ever.\" It was such a joy to witness their delight and know that this was possible because of your generosity.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are deep into our phonics lessons, learning to build and spell CVC words and exploring digraphs. The rug has given us the perfect shared space to practice sounds and word building together with whiteboards. Having this cozy area makes our lessons feel more connected, and I can already see the progress my students are making.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom. Your gift has not only brought comfort but also created opportunities for joyful, meaningful learning every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1753288954409,"projectUrl":"project/sit-learn-shine-help-us-create-a-comf/9454557/","projectTitle":"Sit, Learn, Shine: Help Us Create a Comfy Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ringer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10073775_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752088514097","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10073775"},{"teacherId":381717,"projectId":9580936,"letterContent":"We love our super storage stations!! These drawer units are keeping my students very organized. Everything has its place! We have a drawer for our journals, one for our math workbooks, a drawer for their work folders, a drawer for the dry-erase boards, and then one last drawer which fits each student's math kit! By having these storage stations, I can continue to have the students sit at tables and still have all of their materials located in one easily organized spot. \r\nWith your donations, I am not only keeping my students' materials organized, but I am also keeping my room looking neat and organized, as these are all brand new and matching in color. It makes the room look more put together when they all match and are new and clean.\r\nYour donations helped me create a well-organized classroom for this new space I was moving into. We use them during whole group lessons and again in small learning center rotations. These resources have been a game-changer—giving my students hands-on ways to explore and understand emotions, which is often one of the most difficult concepts for preschoolers with autism.\r\n\r\nThe first time my students saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They were eager to explore, especially the interactive games and sensory-friendly tools. Watching them engage so enthusiastically was a moment I won't forget.\r\n\r\nI've also integrated many of the items into our calm-down corner. These tools have helped the children learn to self-regulate when they're feeling overwhelmed, giving them concrete ways to manage big emotions.\r\n\r\nNext year, I'll be looping with my students into kindergarten, and we'll continue using these same materials as we deepen our understanding of feelings—both our own and others'. Having consistent tools that meet their unique learning needs is incredibly valuable, especially since there is still no formal curriculum tailored to this population.\r\n\r\nYour support has filled a critical gap in our classroom and made a lasting impact.
