These texts have allowed us to dive deeper into essential literacy skills such as identifying the main idea, analyzing characters, making predictions, and using evidence to support our thinking. Each story opens the door for meaningful discussions about themes, author's purpose, and vocabulary, helping students strengthen both comprehension and critical thinking. With diverse genres and culturally relevant stories, students are also developing empathy and a stronger connection to the world around them through literature.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is now a vibrant and interactive experience. Students eagerly gather in small groups or during independent reading time to explore their chosen books, share reflections, and make text-to-self connections. It's heartwarming to see their excitement when they recommend books to one another or confidently discuss their favorite parts during book talks.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who previously struggled to stay focused during reading, now looks forward to our daily reading block. She has found a love for realistic fiction and often volunteers to read aloud, which has boosted both her confidence and fluency. Moments like these remind me how powerful access to the right books can be—and how your generous donation has helped ignite a lasting love for reading in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1759014836462,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-where-possibility-lives/9459405/","projectTitle":"A Place Where Possibility Lives","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Philbert-Lesse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10077359_orig.png?crop=397,397,x2,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753109465907","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10077359"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_101832","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":390,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":36,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":101832,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Match Community Day School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Match Community Day School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/massachusetts-department-of-education/match-community-day/101832"}
