My current and future students will benefit greatly from having access to a high quality 3D printer as they explore the tools, technology, and skills that will help shape their future. Our kids have been busy designing Mars colonies using 3D design software and will soon be printing them on our new printer, allowing us to see their creations in real life (only much, much smaller!). In addition to the core function of building physical models of student designs, the process of 3D printing requires a high level of patience, focused attention to detail, tolerance of failures, and mechanical problem solving- all important skills for the kids to practice.
