Your generous contributions made it possible for us to have a real classroom environment with small group learning groups not only possible, but appropriately sized and comfortable. It's so important for my students to get outside for fresh air and to be able to run around and work off some energy.\r\n\r\n Last year we had no supplies or sports equipment to play with. Our outside area is partly under construction and mostly a parking lot, recess was just not exciting. \r\n\r\nYour donations got us jump ropes, soccer balls (the preferred activity in my class), footballs, volley balls, and dodge balls. The student were so excited. The 4 bare walls had no bulletin boards or whiteboards. Also the previous teacher took down any and all resources. I basically had 12 desks, all mismatched heights and almost 12 student chairs (some were broken). Although my room is deemed \"small group learning\" I only had one extra table for teaching. My main focus for the fundraising was to get what the kids would need. They love the fidget chairs and do really well with taking turns and sharing. The seat cushions are great to help with minimizing distracting body movement, and the elastic bands on all the chairs allow foot fidgeting all day without loud distracting foot banging. The book boxes add vibrant color and holds their headphones as well as books and reading worksheets. The whiteboard and cork boards , well that really helps this teacher with organizing and displaying important resources. Finally the colorful set of rainbow stacking stools allows me to have seating around the small group table. It was only possible by all of your generous donations!
