As soon as we opened the box, students' faces lit up with big smiles. It was such a special moment seeing them feel cared for and prepared for the colder weather.\r\n\r\nOne meaningful moment was when students helped each other put on their gloves and made sure everyone had what they needed. It turned into a lesson in kindness and community, which made it even more impactful than we imagined.\r\n\r\nThe items have already made a difference. Students are now more comfortable during outdoor activities like recess, and they are able to focus better in class without worrying about the cold.\r\n\r\nNext, we are continuing to build on our classroom community by connecting this experience to our lessons on caring and sharing. Students will be writing and drawing thank-you messages to show their appreciation and reflecting on how it feels to help others. We were able to modify instruction with the use of the letter tracing pads for those students and they absolutely loved them.\r\n\r\n The set up of the classroom environment truly sets the stage for learning and there were so many valuable resources that we received through this donation that helped us to achieve this. The letters, double sided tape, laminating sheets, cardstock are just a few of the staple items we received that was so helpful.
