Your contributions have greatly enhanced my students' social-emotional learning (SEL) by providing valuable resources like engaging games that help them explore their feelings and develop relationship skills. \r\n\r\n Since receiving these donations, I often hear students excitedly asking about the new items in my office, saying things like, \"Can I have this?\" or \"Can I play with this?\" to which I gladly reply, \"Everything here is for you!\" The jumbo Connect4 has become a favorite, with one student even challenging me to a game and asking me, \"Are you ready to lose at Connect4 like you do at Uno?\" Their excitement and gratitude for your contributions are evident, and I want to convey their appreciation to you.\r\n\r\nThe calming corner with weighted stuffed animals has quickly become a favorite space for relaxation and regrouping. One student was so inspired by this space that they had their mother order the same weighted sloth from Amazon. This initiative from the students is a clear testament to your resources' impact on them, and you should be proud of it. \r\n\r\nOur problem-solving wall helps students manage conflicts effectively, with a poster that guides them through resolution steps. I even created a problem-solving flowchart sheet with the \"You've Got This\" poster, guiding students through steps to resolve problems. Additionally, the self-guided affirmation station outside my office provides an independent resource that promotes and encourages positivity and a growth mindset.\r\n\r\nMoreover, informative posters guide students in apologizing, taking responsibility, and thinking before speaking. Together, these resources create a warm and supportive environment where every student feels motivated to thrive socially and emotionally. Moving forward, I plan to continue creating groups that support students' social-emotional health, as many students at my school struggle with peer conflicts, problem-solving, relationship-building, and effective communication skills.","fullyFundedDate":1732649027092,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-health-is-mental-wealth/8770196/","projectTitle":"Social-Emotional Health Is Mental Wealth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Van Loan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9744946_orig.jpg?crop=2208,2208,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726495658947","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9744946"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61967","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":665,"numTeachers":59,"percentFrplEligible":15,"percentAsian":29,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":0.0,"schoolId":61967,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edith Baker Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edith Baker Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/brookline-public-school-district/edith-baker-elementary-school/61967"}
