They were SO excited to see all of the new materials, and their faces truly lit up as we explored everything together. From the colorful magnetic letters to the engaging games (and even the scented markers!), they couldn't wait to dive into learning with their new games and activities. This has helped to make our classroom feel even more joyful, hands-on, and engaging.\r\n\r\nWe've been using these resources every day during our literacy and math small groups, and the impact has been incredible. In phonics, students are building and reading words using magnetic tiles and Elkonin boxes, which has helped them grow so much in confidence. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who had been struggling independently build and read a word for the first time-it was such a proud and unforgettable moment! In math, tools like number lines, ten-frames, and number bonds are helping students truly see and understand numbers as they solve problems and explain their thinking.\r\n\r\nAs we continue learning, my students are excited to keep growing by applying these skills to more independent reading, writing, and problem-solving. The students have really taken to the new materials you have helped donate to us.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when we introduced the new games. We often take time during our Morning Meetings to do a review activity. All of the students were eager to take a turn and see the rules of the game, watching peer demonstration. During our Center and indoor recess blocks, there was often a line to be able to use the new supplies. They would cheer and support their peers as they played.\r\n\r\nThe impact these tools had on our students is obvious. We recently gathered data for upcoming report cards. My co-teacher and I were thrilled to see that students were exceeding our pre-K standards. Students were able to recognize numbers and count above what we except by the end of the year, and it was only February. We have not seen such a high level of growth in such a short period. This is such an amazing achievement! We could not have done this without the supplies. For literacy we have 80% of our students who can identify at least 20 of the letters and sound. We are exceeding the K1 expectations but it's only February. It has also freed me up to work with small groups while knowing that students are meaningfully engaged.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were beyond excited. There was an immediate buzz in the room, and students couldn't wait to get started. Since then, engagement during math time has noticeably increased. Students are focused, motivated, and genuinely excited to practice their skills, which has made math time both productive and joyful.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue using these tools to strengthen their foundational math skills through independent and small-group practice.
