When students feel overwhelmed or need a break, they are able to use the equipment in a structured and purposeful way to release energy and return to class ready to learn. One powerful moment was when a student who was struggling to stay focused asked to use the movement room, spent a few minutes with the punching bag, and then came back noticeably calmer, able to state classroom norms and re-engage in the workshop\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the punching bags, they were excited and curious. Many of them immediately recognized it as a positive outlet for stress and energy. It created a sense of ownership and enthusiasm, as they understood this space was designed to support their well-being.\r\n\r\nThanks to this resource, we are continuing to build routines that integrate movement and self-regulation into our daily practices. Our next steps include helping students become more independent in recognizing when they need a reset and using the movement room proactively. We are also connecting this to ongoing lessons around emotional awareness, goal setting, and healthy coping strategies so students can carry these skills beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1767216414203,"projectUrl":"project/rise-and-thrive/9946467/","projectTitle":"Rise and Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jose Warton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10375437"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_133732","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":133732,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Succeed Boston @ Counseling and Intervention Cnt on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Succeed Boston @ Counseling and Intervention Cnt","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/boston-public-schools/succeed-boston-counseling-and-intervention-cnt/133732"}
