By deconstructing words into morphemes (smallest unit of meaning in a word), my students are better prepared to determine their meanings. We were finding that they were incorporating the themes from the stories into their play. During our families/myself theme, students were looking through books and finding photos that looked like them or their family members! \r\n\r\nThese books have lent themselves to so much learning in our classroom.
