Students eagerly browse our classroom library, recommend books to one another, and look forward to independent reading time. Having a diverse selection of engaging books has helped build reading confidence, strengthen comprehension skills, and encourage meaningful conversations about what we're reading. Many students who were once hesitant readers are now excited to pick up a new book and continue a favorite series.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has done more than fill our bookshelves—it has helped foster a love of reading that will benefit my students for years to come. Yoga has been a big hit in our counseling office. The giant cards and dice are wonderful for the younger kiddos to follow and play along. The older kiddos enjoy the movement and meditation pieces. The yoga mats are perfect for emphasizing personal space, and the nature cards tie a lot together with integrating nature and mindfulness. The journaling piece has also been impactful. The journals have encouraged my students to write and draw when they are feeling hard emotions. They are learning the power of writing down their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, without judgment or criticism. \r\n\r\nThe yoga and mindfulness tools have been great additions to our lessons on self awareness and self regulation. I can see the students connecting the dots on bringing their attention to the present moment, and accepting all of their feelings.\r\n\r\nNext steps are to bring more mindfulness practices to the entire school through lessons and projects. The science viewers have been one of the more favorite items my students have received.
