The tea lights held by every students and staff member in the gym while singing \"This Little Light of Mine\" was one of the most magical moments and memories of our school year!\r\n\r\nWe did not expect that this would be so impactful that it would launch a series of character traits for our school building that will become part of our annual social emotional learning goals. In addition to being unique, we are highlighting empathy, kindness, and being a hero (an upstander in bullying situations). As an equity lead, the candlelight experience gave me momentum to create resources for our school that will shape our future towards an even more welcoming school and community.\r\n\r\nI am amazed at how shining a light on our diversity is leading to opportunities for reflection, growth, and celebration. Because of you, my students were able to use the new dry erase markers and decimal place value boards, along with the manipulative kit, to explore place value in a hands-on, meaningful way. \r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful moments happened during a lesson on decimals. As students wrote numbers on their boards, they began physically shifting digits to see how the value changed depending on place. I watched as confusion turned into clarity. Several of my multilingual learners had an epiphany as they connected decimals to whole number place value. When they realized that tenths and hundredths follow the same structural pattern as tens and hundreds-just on the other side of the decimal point-their faces lit up. The visual and interactive tools helped break down language barriers and made the math make sense.\r\n\r\nYour donation has expanded my students' learning opportunities and strengthened their confidence in math. They are more willing to take risks, explain their thinking, and engage in discussions because they now have tools that support their understanding. Thank you for investing in my students and helping them see themselves as capable mathematicians.","fullyFundedDate":1764682880814,"projectUrl":"project/4th-grade-math-materials/9552631/","projectTitle":"4th Grade Math Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lowd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9270338"},{"teacherId":9705342,"projectId":9899445,"letterContent":"On behalf of Rockledge Elementary School, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of the rotating library media supply bins.
