Your support has made a meaningful and immediate impact on the young journalists and storytellers I serve.\r\nFor many of my students, having a simple tool like a dedicated reporter's notebook is more than just having paper to write on—it provides them the opportunity to step confidently into the role of a journalist. Your donation has helped them in several ways.\r\n\r\nStudents now carry their notebooks into interviews and classrooms, capturing observations and stories that matter to them.\r\n\r\nWith a professional tool in hand, they practice questioning, note-taking, source interviews, fact-checking, and reflective writing—skills that strengthen both their academic performance and their self-expression.\r\n\r\nReceiving real reporters' notebooks validates their voices. It tells them their questions and their stories are important. For many, this is a powerful moment.\r\n\r\nNotebooks remove a barrier for students who may not have access to consistent school supplies, ensuring everyone has the tools needed to succeed.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has already inspired curiosity, courage, and creativity among these young reporters. I have seen students who were once hesitant to speak up begin to pursue interviews with enthusiasm. They are excited to learn information about others. Providing them with these notebooks have helped them to come out of their shells. \r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and in the potential of these emerging journalists. We truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your selfless donations. \r\n\r\nYour support has made a tremendous difference to the academic success of my students, and they are more confident in expressing their understanding of concepts they learn in literature. \r\n\r\nWe are even more thankful because during this time when finances are strained, something as \"simple\" as purchasing markers for school activities can cause a hardship for families that are not bringing any income home at the time. \r\n\r\nBecause of your donations, the impact you have had on them has been great. For example, nearly 150 students have benefited from your kindness. Again, families who have been experiencing economic hardships do not have to worry about purchasing more supplies; your donations have eased that financial burden and have taken that worry away from them. I have had colleagues come into my classroom to see the amazing work my students have completed. They have complimented my students on their creativity, collaboration, and focus during these activities. \r\n\r\nMore importantly, my students are grateful and proud of the work they have done. They put so much effort into this activity (and others like this), and they say they are excited to complete many more activities of this nature. Students who are usually more introverted in class were very motivated to work with their groups. Some of their creativity and enthusiasm can be seen in the artwork created and shared here. I wish I could share all their work but do understand the limitations.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your gift of kindness has indeed touched lives that will extend far beyond this school year. My students know there are people who care about them and their academic success without knowing them personally. The treats, colorful passes, and reward bins transformed a simple corner of my classroom into a space buzzing with motivation. Students eagerly asked, \"How can I earn more Bulldog Bucks?\" and began holding each other accountable for participation, punctuality, and effort. Seeing their names on \"Good Call Home\" slips and hearing positive feedback from parents created moments of real pride.\r\n\r\nNow, students are using the Bulldog Bucks system daily. They save up for full-sized treats, bonus points, or assignment passes, but the most popular reward by far is the \"Good Phone Call Home.\" Those calls have changed the tone of my parent communication—families now expect to hear good news, and students beam when they know their effort will be recognized. I've also noticed a shift in classroom climate—students are more eager to complete work, engage in discussions, and even remind peers to stay on task.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, I no longer have to fund these incentives out of pocket each quarter. Your support has made it possible to sustain a positive, consistent system that rewards growth and effort. This semester in Biology and Microbiology, my students have been using the new pocket scales, agar plates, and owl pellets to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts through hands-on exploration. They've been weighing and recording data with precision, culturing bacteria on agar plates to observe microbial growth, and dissecting owl pellets to study food webs and predator-prey relationships. These experiences have turned abstract lessons into meaningful, tangible learning moments ; the kind that truly stick with students.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was contagious. They were eager to explore, experiment, and ask questions. The owl pellet investigation, especially, sparked lively discussions as students uncovered tiny bones and pieced together what their owls had eaten. It's been wonderful watching their curiosity grow as they engage in real scientific inquiry, gaining confidence in their skills and seeing themselves as scientists.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead to semester two, we're thrilled to begin using the sheep hearts and fetal pigs in our Anatomy and Physiology class.
