We have been using the vacuum regularly to keep the carpet free of crumbs and debris from snacks and after-school gatherings, which has made a noticeable difference in how fresh and comfortable the space feels. One moment that stood out was after an OMM lunch bunch—students immediately noticed how quickly the room could be cleaned and were excited to help reset the space so it felt calm again for the next activity.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the vacuum, they were curious and eager to try it. Many of them wanted to take turns using it, and it quickly became a shared responsibility during clean-up time. They took pride in helping care for the room and enjoyed seeing the immediate difference their effort made in keeping the space neat and inviting.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue learning how to independently care for the wellness room by helping maintain a clean environment after meals and activities. This will support routines of responsibility, teamwork, and respect for shared spaces. Your support has helped create not only a cleaner room, but also a stronger sense of ownership and pride among my students.","fullyFundedDate":1775750022446,"projectUrl":"project/clean-space-clear-minds/9965928/","projectTitle":"Clean Space- Clear Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10105335"},{"teacherId":10105335,"projectId":10020593,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students have been able to engage in a calming and meaningful project that supports both creativity and emotional well-being. Using the paint markers, students carefully designed and decorated rocks with positive messages, calming patterns, and symbols of kindness. During one particularly memorable moment, students who are often hesitant to participate were fully engaged, focusing quietly as they chose colors and thoughtfully wrote encouraging words for others. The room felt peaceful and purposeful, and many students commented on how relaxing it was to slow down and just paint.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the paint markers and learned about the rock garden project, they were immediately excited to begin. They were proud to know their work would become part of something permanent that others in the school community could see and appreciate. This sense of ownership helped them invest deeply in the activity, and they often shared their ideas with peers, offering encouragement and inspiration to one another as they worked.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the next step is to place the completed rocks into our soon to be created school wellness garden space, where they will serve as daily reminders of kindness, hope, and emotional support for students and staff. We will continue expanding the garden over time so more students can contribute, reflect, and connect through this shared space. Your support has helped create not just an art project, but a lasting source of comfort and positivity within our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1776346929757,"projectUrl":"project/rocking-our-mental-health-one-paint-mar/10020593/","projectTitle":"Rocking Our Mental Health, One Paint Marker at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10105335"},{"teacherId":10105335,"projectId":10047351,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students were able to use the paint markers to create decorated rocks for our school's mental health, wellness, and kindness garden. Students spent time carefully designing their rocks with positive words, calming patterns, and encouraging messages meant to uplift others in our school community. It was a quiet, focused activity that gave students a chance to slow down, be creative, and express kindness in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the paint markers, they were immediately excited and eager to start. Many students began sharing ideas with each other right away and showed pride as they worked on their designs. Even students who sometimes struggle to engage in group activities were able to participate comfortably because the task was simple, creative, and calming.\r\n\r\nNext, we will place the completed rocks into our school wellness garden so students and staff can see and reflect on them throughout the day. Over time, we hope to continue adding more rocks so the garden grows into a lasting space of encouragement, positivity, and support for our entire school community.","fullyFundedDate":1775159326785,"projectUrl":"project/painting-kindness/10047351/","projectTitle":"Painting Kindness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10105335"},{"teacherId":10105335,"projectId":10142880,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have much-needed organization and structure in our wellness space. While our original shelving items were not available after funding, we were able to thoughtfully adapt the project by selecting clear bins, a shoe rack, and a clothes rack. These resources have already made a noticeable difference in how the room functions. The clear bins, in particular, help students and staff quickly find what they need, and the designated storage areas have made the space feel more organized, calm, and intentional.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the updated materials, they immediately noticed the difference. Several of them commented on how \"clean\" and \"calm\" the room feels now compared to before. They were excited to see that items were no longer scattered or difficult to access. For students who use the wellness room during moments of emotional dysregulation, having a more orderly environment has helped reduce overstimulation and supports them in settling more quickly.\r\n\r\nWe are now continuing to build on this foundation by strengthening routines in the space and teaching students how to independently access and return items with care. The next step is to fully integrate these organizational systems into our daily wellness routines so students can practice responsibility, self-regulation, and independence. Your support has not only improved the physical space, but also helped create a more peaceful environment where students can reset and return to learning ready to engage.","fullyFundedDate":1775075720059,"projectUrl":"project/shelves-of-support/10142880/","projectTitle":"Shelves of Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10105335"},{"teacherId":10105335,"projectId":9812269,"letterContent":"When our new refrigerator arrived, the students noticed it immediately. The clear door caught their attention, and within minutes a small crowd had formed. Several students were excited to recognize items that they usually only see during breakfast. One student said, \"Wait... we can grab this later too?\" That moment captured exactly what this project has done for our school.\r\n\r\nWe are now using the fridge every day to keep unopened food from breakfast and lunch safe and accessible. Students who may not feel hungry in the morning—or who hesitate to take extra food in front of peers—can now stop by later, check what's available, and take what they need discreetly. Students who used to complain about afternoon hunger are now grabbing a healthy snack before class, helping them stay focused and comfortable.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, we're working with our student leadership team to create a \"Pantry Patrol\" role. These students will help check the fridge daily, organize items from the share table, and create simple posters encouraging others to reduce waste and take what they need. It's become not just a resource but a learning opportunity about sustainability, nutrition, and community care.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students something that supports their well-being every single day. Your contribution is already making a meaningful difference.","fullyFundedDate":1760295389336,"projectUrl":"project/a-fridge-full-of-kindness/9812269/","projectTitle":"A Fridge Full of Kindness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10105335"},{"teacherId":10105335,"projectId":9683124,"letterContent":"When we received the donated snacks, it was a true blessing. We keep these snacks available for those who need a little boost during the day—whether they haven't had breakfast, are feeling low on energy, or just need something to help them stay focused. Having this support has encouraged a more caring and comfortable space for learning.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited when they first saw the snacks. Their faces glowed with happiness. Many expressed genuine gratitude and shared how much it meant to know that others care about them. Something as simple as a snack has made a real difference in helping students feel seen, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these snacks continue to remind students that well-being and kindness matters. Our next steps include finding ways to pay that kindness forward, through thank-you notes and discussions about empathy and generosity.
