At the time I wrote the grant, I had a very large and diverse community of learners in my classroom. The students I teach have varying levels of need and require a variety of special instructional materials to be able to access, engage and learn in our classroom community. Often, the families of my students do not have the resources to donate to our classroom. Our school district provides the very basic minimum supplies that are geared towards traditional learners. Through the kindness and generosity of your donations, I was able to create a fun, multi-sensory and modern classroom environment to help my students learn and stay calm.\r\nOn a daily basis my students are using the new supplies that you have donated since returning to the classroom on 8/26/26. I have a few students that need flexible seating to stay successful and engaged, and my new assortment of seatign has really helped to provide this. My mobile white board has offered me the flexibility I need to create various learning stations around the room when engaging in both small-group and whole group instruction. The headphones that were purchased are helping my students access chromebook instruction that requires headphones and many families do not send these in for their students. \r\nAgain, thank you so much for the donations that help my students access their curriculum with the most up-to-date and quality supplies.","fullyFundedDate":1778342044393,"projectUrl":"project/15-student-self-contained-special-educat/10060970/","projectTitle":"15 Student Self-Contained Special Education Class Request for Help","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9224071_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769350543020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9224071"},{"teacherId":2956476,"projectId":9498935,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, these new resources have made a meaningful difference in my teaching. We've been using tools like bike pedals, fidgets, and manipulatives during our small group lessons—especially when students are working on test-taking practice, writing assignments, and challenging intervention activities. These tools make learning more hands-on and sensory-rich, which has noticeably improved focus, retention, and overall engagement. One of my favorite moments has been watching students independently choose the tool that helps them stay grounded and ready to learn, whether it's pedaling while writing or using a fidget to stay calm during a challenging task. \r\nWhen my students first saw the cart filled with all the new learning tools, they were so excited, and continue to be. They immediately explored each option, eager to find what would support them best. The checklists, self-monitoring tools, and different response choices have been especially transformative. These resources have empowered my students to take real ownership of their learning and the accommodations they need. It has been inspiring to watch them advocate for themselves, make thoughtful decisions, and feel proud of the strategies that help them succeed.\r\nAs we continue our current lessons and intervention cycles, these tools will support students in building independence, confidence, and stronger academic habits. The next steps involve helping students track their progress, reflect on the strategies that work best for them, and continue using these supports during longer, more demanding learning tasks. I'm excited to see how much further they will grow with these resources at their fingertips.\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and helping create a learning environment where every child feels supported, capable, and engaged. Without you all, I would not be able to offer motivating choices that are age appropriate, exciting, and engaging for each learner.","fullyFundedDate":1755711889201,"projectUrl":"project/tools-to-help-our-students-engage-focus/9498935/","projectTitle":"Tools to Help Our Students Engage, Focus, and Thrive!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Perera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2956476_orig.jpg?crop=1758,1758,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753568478790","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kindergartenspecialed"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104495","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":642,"numTeachers":56,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":33,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.1,"schoolId":104495,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Flora M Singer Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Flora M Singer Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/montgomery-county-public-schools/flora-m-singer-elementary-school/104495"}
