Your support helped us get this brand-new mentorship and leadership program off the ground for 62 girls in grades 6–8. Because we were starting from the ground up, your donation made an immediate difference by helping us purchase books focused on leadership, empowerment, confidence, and personal growth, along with journals, pens, stickers, posters, and other supplies. These resources have helped us create a welcoming and affirming space where our girls can reflect, express themselves, set goals, and begin discovering their voices as leaders.\r\nOne of our favorite moments was watching the girls walk into our Crown Collective Den and see the materials for the first time. They were excited to look through the books, choose their journals, and personalize their supplies with stickers and encouraging messages. For a brand-new program, seeing that excitement was incredibly meaningful—it showed us that the space was already beginning to feel like their space. Our next steps are to use these resources during mentorship experiences focused on identity, confidence, leadership, self-advocacy, wellness, and goal-setting. As our program grows, the girls will also have opportunities to connect with women leaders, take on leadership roles, and serve their school community. Your generosity helped turn an idea into a real community for 62 girls, and we are so grateful for the role you played in helping Crown Collective begin its journey","fullyFundedDate":1776359718978,"projectUrl":"project/crown-collective-mentorship-at-the-viad/10062925/","projectTitle":"Crown Collective: Mentorship at the Viaduct","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones-Wagner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9166044_orig.jpg?crop=2007,2007,x169,y756&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723163838559","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sheila-jones-wagner"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_107824","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":749,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":17,"percentBlack":44,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":107824,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Thomas Viaduct Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Thomas Viaduct Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/howard-county-public-school-system/thomas-viaduct-middle-school/107824"}
