Being able to \"shop\" using points they have earned—rather than money—promotes equity and dignity, ensuring all students can experience success and rewards regardless of family income. This reduces feelings of exclusion and helps students feel valued and included in the school community.\r\n\r\nThe behavior-based point system also reinforces positive decision-making and self-regulation. Students clearly see the connection between their choices (following expectations, using coping strategies, showing kindness) and meaningful outcomes. This is especially impactful for students who may experience higher levels of stress outside of school, as it provides consistent structure, motivation, and positive adult feedback.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the school store supports intrinsic motivation and self-esteem. Students take pride in earning points through their own efforts, which builds confidence and encourages continued engagement in learning and behavior goals. For students who often receive corrective feedback, the store shifts the focus to recognizing strengths and successes.\r\n\r\nOverall, donations ensure the school store remains stocked with motivating items, allowing it to function as a powerful tool for behavior support, emotional well-being, and equity, while fostering a positive school climate where all students—especially those from low SES backgrounds—can experience achievement and joy.","fullyFundedDate":1761937063074,"projectUrl":"project/rewarding-excellence-school-store-for-a/9746874/","projectTitle":"Rewarding Excellence: School Store for All Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nemes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2767871_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541099985717","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2767871"},{"teacherId":8978326,"projectId":9761865,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our speech sessions have come alive with excitement and meaningful learning. The sensory toys and hands-on games you provided have quickly become some of the most loved and frequently used tools in our room.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new materials during small-group language lessons, especially when practicing prepositions. One of my favorite moments happened during a recent activity where students used miniature objects to act out phrases like \"fox in hat\" and \"pear under chair\" A student who usually hesitates to participate jumped right in, proudly placing a toy in the box. It was such a joyful reminder of how powerful hands-on learning can be.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the sensory materials, their reactions were priceless. They immediately wanted to touch everything and several of them laughed out loud when they pulled apart the tubes that make noise. We have used the toys to promote articulation, language and most importantly to just play. Their excitement filled the room, and it was clear these resources were going to make a big difference.\r\n\r\nYour support has opened the door to so many new learning opportunities. These tools will be continue to be used to incorporate sensory breaks that help students stay regulated and ready to learn, as well as encourage hands on learning. Your contribution towards students receiving new school uniforms made lasting impacts throughout the entire school year 2024-2025. In August and September I shared a form with families in my school community to collect sizes and uniform needs. This strategy was easy and appreciated by parents. It was accessible for them through our digital communication platform as well as paper flyers in the main offices. By the second week of school, the first 50 families who requested uniforms received them. By the end of September, 20 more families received fresh new uniforms. Delivering the uniforms to the students was a really special moment!\r\nSome of the reactions from our students took me by surprise, but lovely surprise. Many students asked to confirm, \"I can take these home??\" or \"Does my mom know??\" Other sweet students were concerned about their siblings, before they shared their own joy; for example a little sister asked \"Will my sister get one?\" Once they were reassured, they were free to share their smiles and gratitude. Yet, consistently, the biggest surprise reaction was about how excited my students were about getting two fresh pairs of socks with their new uniforms! Every student received two socks with each uniform set. Some of my girls who chose skirts or jumpers for their uniforms also had brand new knee socks to go with their new uniforms! The remaining clothing items were shared with my students throughout the year who did not come to school in clean clothes, or were newly enrolled and in need of uniforms. I was so grateful to have a \"stash\" of uniforms to provide for teachers and students who'd come to me daily. I had the ability to help more students without hesitation and without being worries I would run out.\r\nAfter getting this project funded, I had the opportunity to stop and recognize just how essential it is for my students to feel prepared and properly dressed to learn every day. It gave me the opportunity to be grateful for a simple article of clothing that I have certainly taken for granted each day I put on a pair of socks. Your contribution has not only supported the families at Moravia Park but also made an imprint on my heart and mind to be more conscious of all of the gifts I have daily.","fullyFundedDate":1723669930913,"projectUrl":"project/prepare-my-students-with-fresh-back-to-s/8515932/","projectTitle":"Prepare My Students With Fresh Back to School Uniforms!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stenger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3758050_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1486324069908","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3758050"},{"teacherId":149127,"projectId":8977071,"letterContent":"We are excited to share the positive impact of our We Love Our Pet Project in our Library.
