My students were so excited to dig into small groups, and we have made great use of all the materials we received. Students love to use the grammar and spelling games during extra time and the organizational spaces for turning in work and sorting student materials has really helped cut back on transition times, therefore maximizing instructional time. It has also helped create a sense of independence among students, as they learn routines and know exactly where things go; this also helps foster a sense of belonging and ownership of the classroom space for students. My new seating arrived right before our \"sneak a peek at your seat\" event at the beginning of the school year. Students were instantly attracted to the variety of seating options, asked me questions about them, and tried them out. We have established classroom rules to ensure that the seating remains flexible and promotes focus and productivity while providing the opportunity for movement. Some students use a flexible seating option every day while others prefer their traditional seats, but that is the joy of flexible seating.\r\n Incorporating flexible seating into my classroom is something I wanted to do for a long time. I am so thankful for your donation to make this dream possible. I've been able to witness the positive impact it has had on my students already. Students have minimal opportunities for movement throughout the day. Flexible seating opportunities provide that opportunity while still maintaining the rigor necessary to stay on pace and remain focused. \r\n My students and I are still navigating the management of flexible seating in the classroom. However, they have done an excellent job already at self-advocating and learning the ways in which they learn best which was my goal for implementing this project. Thank you so much for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1724305294014,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-in-3rd-grade/8445534/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating in 3rd Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6177167_orig.jpg?crop=876,876,x0,y12&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716990886989","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6177167"},{"teacherId":6177167,"projectId":8424511,"letterContent":"Your generous donation has already benefitted my students and me greatly. My students now have the space to practice their spelling skills and rules while collaborating and learning from their peers. We use the whiteboard to play games related to our Fundations lessons, and the students get so excited to be involved and interact in a meaningful way. The extra board space has allowed me to leave up Fundations materials throughout the day, allowing students to use the resource all day rather than just during our Fundations learning block. I have witnessed students referencing the board when working on science and social studies writing which fosters our goal of reading and writing across content areas. We are just returning from winter break, so I look forward to hitting the ground running again with my students and diving into learning again. Thank you so much for your generosity.
