There are so many students that will benefit from our new makerspace. My kids refer to this space as our class store. Recently my 4th graders were working on designing chairs for a client. After drawing out their design plan, they created a shopping list with the different materials they need to build their chairs out of. They then went to the store and went \"shopping.\" They loved to be able to have this space to select materials from and take more ownership of their projects. \r\n\r\nWhen I explained to the students where the space came from and how we had people donate to us to make this a possibility, they were so shocked and grateful. They were excited to be able to use the space. They all wanted to tell you thank you!!\r\n\r\nWhile 4th graders were the initial students to get to visit this space, the space is available to all students. 1st graders will be using it as they make African masks. 2nd graders will be using it as they create animal crossings. 3rd grade will be using it as they build zoo habitats. 4th will use it again and they create fashion designs representing different countries. 5th grade will be using it as they build backpacks for clients. \r\n\r\nThank you again!!
