We are using them in two classrooms. For our reading folders and workbooks. Also, when students switch to another room for math, science, and social studies they are able to use the mailboxes. Students are not losing papers, folders, or notebooks during the day. They are also not missing instruction by leaving the room to go to their lockers to get their supplies for class. \r\n\r\nWe appreciate all the donors that helped us get organized and ready for instruction. Students helped put numbers on the mailboxes so they could tell which mailbox was theirs. Through the characters and their experiences, students learn important lessons about friendship, kindness, empathy, loneliness, and accepting others. The story encourages meaningful conversations while keeping students excited and engaged in reading.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, finishing an entire chapter book is a huge accomplishment. Some have never been able to say, \"I read a whole chapter book!\" before. Having their own copy to hold, follow along with, and discuss with their classmates helps build their confidence and shows them that they really can be successful readers.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this book helps students discover that reading can be something they truly enjoy. Students gather in small groups, cozy corners, or read-aloud circles to explore stories that help them see both themselves and others in new ways. These books have sparked powerful conversations about empathy, perseverance, and celebrating differences.\r\n\r\nWe've used these stories to introduce key reading and social-emotional skills, such as identifying character traits, understanding perspective, making text-to-self connections, and expanding vocabulary related to feelings and learning styles. Each book offers new opportunities to build comprehension while deepening students' appreciation for diversity and inclusion.\r\n\r\nSome students have connected to the stories in very personal ways.
