My students are thriving with access to these basic materials. Sometimes just a small thing matters to them. Like having access to good erasers for their whiteboards. It saves time and frustration. Like a speedy and quiet pencil sharpener. Makes interruptions less distracting and quicker. My students favorite one of our new materials is our awesome pencil sharpener. And like out floor sweeper that we use every day to make our class spic and span and easier for our custodians to clean. They have given him a name (Drillington) and have dressed him up with paper hats, outfits, and facial features. They take extra good care of him and treat him like a class pet! \r\n\r\n\r\nWhen my materials first came in I gave them a haul and explained that both strangers and my family and friends had donated money to get us these new and exciting materials. I explained that all though they are basic and maybe not the most exciting supplies, they are necessary to make our classroom run smoothly. They ooed and ahhed as I showed each item and explained why it was so important to our classroom. \r\n\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the year we will make sure to take extra good care of Drillington, take care or our erasers and scissors, write rigorously with our new pencils, add colorful detail with our new sharpies, and attack our fraction unit head on with our magnetic fraction circles.\r\n\r\nWe are so thankful for your donation to our classroom and hope you continue to donate to other classrooms in need.","fullyFundedDate":1759166413544,"projectUrl":"project/basic-supplies-for-a-not-so-basic-classr/9550670/","projectTitle":"Basic Supplies for a Not So Basic Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Granata","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9631962_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723858926028","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9631962"},{"teacherId":5884449,"projectId":9786781,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our DonorsChoose project.
